Hatsumi Soke's Awards and accomplishments

Dr. Hatsumi believes the Bujinkan members should be bright lights in the world. He wants his students to be outsanding examples and be a guiding influence for all martial arts.

Dr. Hatsumi is an accomplished writer, author of numerous books of Philosophy and Martial Arts, that have been translated into several languages. He is also a renown adviser, director and actor for martial arts films and television programs.

Hatsumi Sensei's most recent awards:

Masaaki Hatsumi has become the first budoka in history to be awarded an Apostolic Blessing by the Vatican. The certificate, which arrived in Japan in May 2001, bears a painting of Pope John Paul and states the following:

Bujinkan Founder Honored by Japanese Government:
The Shakai Bunka Korosho from the Japan Cultural Promoting Association issued by the Imperial family was awarded to Hatsumi Sensei in 2000. Perhaps the most important recognition of the Bujinkan as an authentic martial art.

Because of his efforts in spreading this philosophy of peace through personal responsibility, throughout the world, he has been recognised and honoured by many Governments, Private Organisations and Distinguished Individuals.

Dr. Hatsumi has received numerous letters of thanks and awards whilst travelling the world disseminating his knowledge, skills and philosophies to his thousands of students.

He has also been granted Honorary Citizenship to many cities and states around the world including :
The State of Texas, Los Angeles, Atlanta and The Key to the City of Dublin.
